The area has several nursery schools and a full fledged day care center.

The Ellenville Central School offers K-4 elementary school, a new middle school (grades 5-8), and a 1996 high school serving grades 9-12. Total enrollment is slightly less than 2,000 students. A five-year School Improvement Program is in progress and expanded computer literacy has a high priority. The school is recognized for it's excellent music program. A B.O.C.E.S. (Board of Cooperative Educational Services) Center offers programs for adult technology training and high school equivalency programs.

 
Nearby, there are three community colleges with two year degree programs, and several four year collages with graduate programs are within commuting distance.
